    Nothing seems to happen with this plugin activated. afaics it only works on admin creating a user. Not on reset.

    But I just get the usual random wp password. Do I need to install something on my Ubuntu Apache/Nginx vps?

    This is expected as the plugin was originally designed specifically to help site administrators who need to set up several user accounts with complex/memorable initial passwords.

    To achieve this, and as mentioned in the plugin’s documentation, it was designed to generate complex/memorable passwords in the “Add New user” and “Your Profile” admin pages.

    An advanced version of the plugin, Correct Horse Battery Staple Plus, is available which generates complex/memorable passwords for password resets and self-registered users, and other additional features which are outlined at http://cubecolour.co.uk/downloads/correct-horse-battery-staple-plus/.
