 * After installing the plugin nothing plugin related shows in under Settings
 * Any ideas why?

 * Sorry for the late reply, just saw this.
 * Can you check if Piklist plugin is installed and activated? The plugin should
   have prompted you to install it. This is the only reason that I can think of.
