  • I’ve been using pinpoint on this website for years without any major issues but a problem has recently developed.

    There are several calendars that are set up to allow customers to book 1-24 x 1hr slots per day. It’s been working fine for years and suddenly it won’t allow people to make a booking on a day that already has a booking.

    If a day already has a booking, and you try to select any other available time slot, it will say ‘There are no services available for the period you selected.’

    It does not affect every day, it seems to begin affecting the calendars around September 2020. Some days appear to be completely unaffected. When I set the hours/prices for the calendars, I do them in large blocks (March to the following March usually), basically I just extend the calendar for another year. I can’t see any reason why they would suddenly be different in the middle of year.

    The unavailable slots show as green in both the front and back end, they appear to be available, but when someone tries to select these slot it will not allow it.

    I’ve tested everything I can think of. I’ve used different browsers, different booking details, I’ve tried various days throughout various months, different coupons, paying through PayPal and non-payment. The result is always the same, I cannot get these days to accept more than one booking.

    I’ve also tried completely resetting those days/blocks on the calendars and setting them up in different ways. I’ve tried the various ‘repair’ tools that are provided in the plugin settings.

    My client does not have access to the backend so I know that they have not changed anything. I haven’t changed anything. I hadn’t run any updates recently that could have broken anything.

    I have now updated wordpress (made no difference), tomorrow I will install the latest update for Pinpoint (from a few days ago) but I’m not confident that this will resolve the issue as the changelog doesn’t mention it.

    Hello,

    I just looked over your website and I was able to select hours from a day where a reservation is already made (maybe you recently reset the availability).

    However, you should try to set the availability until 23:59 and not until 24:00.

    Like I said, not all dates are affected.
    Try 25/09/20, 25/11/20. They are random dates that I picked out yesterday to test where I found there is a problem.

    Yes, I’m now aware that you are better off selecting 23:59 rather than 24:00 for the day end time and I will change it when I next extend the calendar. This information was not made clear in the instructions when the calendars were created, I specifically asked the support team about this and was wrongly advised that “either is fine”.

    I think I’ve found the problem…

    If you look at 28th-30th October 2020 on the calendar that I originally linked.

    I reset this 4 day block and recreated the available slots, I did them as batch (all 4 at the same time) so each day has been created with identical settings.

    I made the bookings using the exact same details: same name, address, email address, discount coupon, etc.

    28th Oct 2020 has a 3hr booking, the other slots in the day remain available and can be selected/booked.

    29th Oct 2020 has a 1hr booking, all other slots are unavailable.

    30th Oct 2020 has a 2hr booking, the other slots in the day remain available and can be selected/booked.

    31s Oct 2020 has a 1hr booking, all other slots are unavailable.

    So it appears that if someone makes a 1hr booking, it breaks the rest of the day.

    Am I missing something obvious, a setting somewhere that will resolve this or is it just broken?

    I have created a new calendar from nothing, where the days to finish at 23:59 (to avoid the 00:00 / 24:00 bug) and the problem still occurs.

    If someone books a 1hr slot on a day, then people are not able to book any of the other available hours on the day.

    If someone books more than 1hr on a day, then the problem does not occur.

    March 5th 2021 is the first test booking I made and it immediately caused the bug to appear. All other hours on that day cannot be booked.
