• Any visual editor MUST be a layout editor first of all.
Now the columns block is in the BETA. I did not find an ability to change a width of columns. (And what about changing columns width in certain breakpoints).
I want to create a section, set a width of the container (fluid or container width), set a background for this section. Then I want to put columns with width that suits my needs, not only two equal columns. This is basic functionality and Gutenberg does not have it.
The interface is not intuitive even for experience developers. Simple users are shocked when they see this editor.
It should be a plugin that people will install if they want to.
Please do not include this builder in WordPress core. This will be the end of WordPress.

    UPDATE.
I was testing Gutenberg on your demo here:
    https://wordpress.org/gutenberg/
And I found option to change columns count. To do that user must hover on parent block for columns (which is pretty hard to do, and in my opinion it must have name like ‘row’), click on it and then only option that user has in block options is to change number of columns in row and they will be an EQUAL width on ANY resolution. Who made this architecture? Did you see any of available page builders that already working?

    UPDATE MAY 2020
Now we can modify columns width.
Also we can use a fullwidth cover block and put columns inside it to get ‘section’ with a background image or video background. (Your theme should support for fullwidth feature.
Also one of great part of Gutenberg editor that it will not reload the page after each ‘save’ or ‘update’ button click.

For those who want to use Classic editor – you can steel use ‘Classic’ block type without disable Gutenberg.
