• Hi there

I thought I’d take your plugin for a spin – alas I’m running into issues

The search box doesn’t show up at all (no output)

if I go to /?s=foo I get zero search results in the page, but oddly, the GSE results underneath the search widget.

    What I was looking for:

WP native search form posts to ?s=[search term]

on search results page, the plugin does teh API call and renders results.

before I tinker with the code – am I doing something blatently wrong?

    CHeers –

    Hi there

Thanks for trying out the plugin and sorry you’re having problems.

Which theme are you using? At the moment the “zero search results” message will appear unless your theme overrides this behaviour.

    Hi there

I am using the Make theme from ThemeFOundry

I ended up creating a new page and new template for that page, and repurposed your widget code to be run – all working as needed now.

So thanks for the slick code!

Thanks for the feedback. Glad to hear it is working for you now.

If you’ve made any useful changes to the plugin code , the development version is at https://github.com/aptivate/server-side-google-search. Feel free to submit a pull request.

I’m using Roots theme, I inserted the widget under the WordPress search plugin in my Primary sidebar, but every time I type a query into the WordPress search widget, it doesn’t display any results.

Should there be any additional codes to be added to make this plugin work?.

    Hi Fred

Sorry to hear you’re still having problems using the plugin.

You need to put the widget on the page where you expect to see the search results.

We don’t have time to give you much support, unless you’re able to pay us – we have to pay our bills I’m afraid!

Until then, over to the community!
