I’m trying to change from timeline to search.

I’m in Appearance | Customize | Widgets | Rotating Tweets

I see the options to change from User timeline to Search (or List, etc).

I can make all the changes.

However, there is no Save button at the bottom. Only options are Remove and Close.

Any insight on where to go to actually make and save the changes?

Not on the bottom right of the widget?

Do you have any plug-ins or templating that adjust your admin pages?

Does moving to version 4.5 of WordPress help?

Are you able to get the results you want through the customize route, i.e.:
    – Visit Site | Customize | Widgets | {Widget Section } | Save and Publish

And are you seeing save buttons for other widgets?

The site was put together by someone else no longer available. Getting up to speed on it.

Am NOT seeing save buttons for other widgets in this area:
Appearance | Customize | Widgets | Rotating Tweets

Did upgrade the rotating tweets plugin to latest and it is pulling current tweets, but from the default timeline. Need to change to a search.

    Thanks for the response.

Have not yet upgraded WordPress to 4.5. Wanting to solve one thing at a time.

Upgraded to WordPress 4.5. Still the same.

If there are no buttons for any of your widgets on

    Appearance | Customize | Widgets

then you may have a problem with your template or another plug-in.

If you want to fix this, try switching off your plug-ins one at a time to see if it solves the problem.

In the meantime, as said above, I suggest you use

    Visit Site | Customize | Widgets | {Widget Section } | Save and Publish

to change your Rotating Tweets settings.

Thanks for the tips. None of the above worked.

However, here’s where I found the ability to Save:

Appearance | Widgets | Primary Widget Area | Rotating Tweets

    Brilliant. Thanks for posting.

Did you now have a ‘Save and Publish’ button on the other routes? It’s normally at the top, but it’s not particularly clear that you need to use it.

And that’s definitely a location where a badly behaved plugin can break the site…
