No RSVP email, No admin email, No edit RSVP facility, No RSVP landing page …And 7 to 10 days support response… Seriously guys, you’ve built half a plugin.

Many have written about the “No RSVP email” and “No Admin email” issues, and after taking many, many valuable hours out of my day I’m still none the wiser. It’s not fair to expect my admin to become coders just to sort out the basics of usability, and while there is no support for the free plugin users – who would probably have become paid users – I think you’ll find that most of us will have migrated to your competition.

So, tomorrow morning I will start to research the competition, paying particular attention to the above mentioned missing items.

    Thanks.

    Hello @tradinghub,

I’m sorry you are experiencing problems using our plugin.

Let me try to help you with that.

We do feature RSVP emails as stated here, so the users who confirm the RSVP for an event should be receiving an email confirmation for it.

They should also be able to edit their RSVP, but only if you Require users to log in before they RSVP. You’ll find this setting under Events > Settings > Tickets tab and under Login requirements.

Are any of these functionalities not working for you? Let us know so we can further assist you in finding the source of the problem.

Regarding the “No admin email” or “No RSVP landing page” I’m not really sure what you mean by this. Is there any functionality our plugin state to have but doesn’t work?

On the other hand, if you have an idea for a new functionality for our plugin we’d love to hear about it. You can even post it in our User Voice here so others can vote for it.

    Best,
    Victor

Yup, as I suspected – the “help” I received above is of absolutely no use to me whatsoever.

    1) NO RSVP EMAILS: You say “We do feature RSVP emails as stated here, so the users who confirm the RSVP for an event should be receiving an email confirmation for it”. We say: “There are no RSVP emails being sent !” We have followed your advice and guess what – There is still NO RSVP EMAIL being received by the event attendee, and before you ask, yes my site is sending other admin emails (such as informing us when a new user like Yoast logs in), so the problem is not with our site ending emails. Soooooooooo many people are complaining about this RSVP function not working, not just us – Don’t believe me ? Copy and past this link: https://www.google.co.uk/?gfe_rd=cr&ei=Ubx0WbaqKvDv8Ae-vLD4CA&gws_rd=ssl#q=the+events+calendar+not+sending+RSVP+emails&spf=1500822610630

    2) NO ADMIN EMAIL: It’s a simple thing. All users/clients require an email sent to their administrator when an attendee RSVP’s for an event so we know someone has RSVP’d. It should be a simple check box in the Events > Settings > Tickets tab with a field to list the admin email address to be sent to…..

    3) NO RSVP LANDING PAGE: Again, a simple thing. We all need the ability to send an attendee to a “Thank You” landing page once they have RSVP’d – Your current “solution” to just place a tiny, un-editable line of text at the top by the RSVP button is totally inadequate – It looks like something I would have seen on a home made website built in the mid-1990’s – Shockingly bad !!!

    4) ISSUE RESOLVED AND CLOSED: We love the way you guys keep closing threads claiming the issue within has been resolved – They are NOT RESOLVED – These are on-going examples of BUSINESS YOU HAVE LOST as each one of these represents someone just like us who has got sick of wasting their time trying to get your plugin to work and has simply moved to one your competitors. Wake up “Modern Tribe”, wake up……

    Hello @tradinghub,

I’m sorry if the previous answer of my colleague was disappointing. I would be happy to help you with finding the source of the issues you are experiencing, if you are willing to give us a chance.

    1) No RSVP emails
At first we should rule out any conflicts that might come from other plugins or theme. For this I kindly like to ask you to follow our conflict testing guide and see if that changes anything.

    2) No admin email
While this is not a functionality out of the box, it can be achieved with the following snippet, thanks to @cliffpaulick:
    https://gist.github.com/cliffordp/c4fb2ea8fb5ca44973ff06e6facc9742
Just copy it into your theme’s functions.php file and adjust it based on your needs.

    3) No RSVP landing page
While this is also not a core feature of our plugin, you should be able to achieve it with this snippet thanks to @barryhughes-1:
    https://gist.github.com/andrasguseo/475699d1f7e3d4671428dc71f87f373b
Just create your landing page and add adjust the URL in the snippet.

    4) Issues resolved and closed
We are usually closing down threads where the issues are resolved, or where there has been no movement for over a month.
Usually within a month we release one or event two Maintenance Releases, which fix a lot of issues. Also if the users doesn’t reply after a month, then likely he doesn’t have the issue any more. In any case, if the issue still persists, a new thread can be opened which will be handled by our team.

I hope the above answers help you to move forward with your site. I believe the only open question is the email one. If you post here the results of your conflict testing then we’ll be happy to help you further.

    Cheers,
    Andras

Too late guys…. We’ve already binned your calendar plugin in favour of a competitors product that simply, well, works….

As I said before, my staff are busy people and it’s not in my business interests to wait weeks for “support” only to find that we have to rip php files apart in order to get your product to do the basics that others are providing as standard.

The upshot is that, again, as I said before, you’ve only built half a plugin, and your expectation that your prospects should become coders to make up for your lack of functional understanding of the needs of your market, then your expectation that we’ll become paying clients, is deluded.

So I guess you can now do as you usually do and mark this thread as resolved. On the surface it makes you guys look good. In reality 90+% of your threads are simply closed by you due to your prospects giving up and going elsewhere, so your assertion that “if the users doesn’t reply after a month,he doesn’t have the issue any more.” is, again, simply deluded.

Wake up modern tribe… Wake up…

    Over and out.

@tradinghub, thanks for sharing your candid feedback. We definitely didn’t reply to your message “Sent: Sun, 23 Jul 2017 16:45:22 +0000” in a timely manner, for which we will aim to improve in the future.

You’re not the first to have chosen an alternative solution due to an aversion of wanting to use template overrides or action/filter hooks to accomplish some of the customizations.

It’s definitely a balancing act determining which customizations to leave as code-only and which to turn into options in the UI. We’re helping bridge this gap with some of our https://theeventscalendar.com/extensions/ (many more to come in time), but sometimes custom code is the only way to get exactly what you want, as is the case with many plugins, some themes, and even core WordPress software.

I’d recommend adding votes or new ideas to our feature request forum: https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas. We definitely consider an idea’s popularity there when building new stuff. As our pinned reply in this WordPress.org forum states, this .org forum is specifically for user-to-user interactions or for reporting bugs to us. We still try to reply to all threads here once per week.

You’re welcome to try us again in the future, as we continually improve and refine our products and service. For now, we wish you well with the solution of your choice.

Hey there! This thread has been inactive for a while so we’re going to go ahead and mark it Resolved. Please feel free to open a new thread if any other questions come up and we’d be happy to help. 🙂

NOT RESOLVED ! FAR FROM IT !!!!!!

“Resolved” is simply the lazy way of looking like you’re on the case. again – FAR FROM IT….

@tradinghub, you previously said you moved on to a competitor’s offering; I’m glad you were able to find something that worked well for you.

Our products and services aren’t the perfect fit for everyone’s needs. We wish your experience with our products and services would have been positive, and we wish you the best with that alternative solution.
