  • Here’s what you’re search page URL is if I search for “test”:
    http://compliance-kasasa-com.bvauth.staging.wpengine.com/disclaimer-search/?s=test&submit=Search

Your search page is 404ing more than actually coming up with no search results.

    Here’s the right format:

You mentioned you were looking through theme files for query_posts() which makes me want to ask if you had been modifying the theme directly without using a child theme. If you have, that might cause a few other problems. Be aware, if you made your modifications directly in the theme files and decide to update your theme, you will lose all of your modifications. If you don’t update your theme, you might open yourself up to security risks or compatibility issues down the road.

    Check this out:

I built my first site by exclusively editing the theme’s PHP and learned this lesson the hard way, I ended up rebuilding it a few months later. If this is what you did and you need any advice moving forward, let me know and I’d be happy to help.

    Take care!

    Tyler,
You make great points about a child theme, thank you for the word of caution.
Do we do something specific to designate the correct results page? We did not change anything in the backend, and I don’t see a setting through admin.
