No redirection (unless I don't get it at all) (4 posts)

    Hi, I've got the plugin in place, and have set a number of redirects set. Doesn't "redirection" mean that when a visitor goes to the old page, he/she is redirected to the new page? If so, it doesn't appear to be working. For instance, I've got /html/profiles_scott.html set as the source and http://laskofflaw.com/attorney/scott-quigley/ set as the target with a 301 redirect, and yet when you visit http://www.laskofflaw.com/html/profiles_scott.html you don't get redirected. Any suggestions?

    you can also redirect through .htaccess file by putting redirect 301 source_link target_link

    example - redirect 301 /html/profiles_scott.html http://laskofflaw.com/attorney/scott-quigley/

  3. I think that the plugin only works for WordPress pages.
    What I would do if I were you is simply add a meta redirect in the profiles_scott.html page

    <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;url= http://laskofflaw.com/attorney/scott-quigley/" />

    Hopefully you don't have too many html pages to edit.

    There might also be a way to do this via .htaccess but this is always how I've done it.

    Ah, it IS that I didn't get it at all! ;-) Anyway, the .htaccess method is working. Thanks to you both!
