    Hey, this a topic that seems to have not been yet been resolved by WP so seeing if anyone has an update or answer here?

    When I try to update my admin email address, I’m *not* getting the confirmation email to update the address. I’ve tried several email addresses but actually none go through for the confirmation link. And no emails are held/in queued up with my SP.

    This should be so simple, but I never actually get the email to confirm and others report the same problem.

    Anyone have updates? What to do?

  • Are you updating the email address on the Settings &rarr General page or in the admins profile?

    The one on the Settings &rarr General page does not always trigger the email. I’ve had the same problem for years the only way to overwrite the address is to edit it at the database level in the wp_options table.

    Okay, I’m with you about going into Options Table. Yes, I was in Settings area first. I see Options and all the coding…. Thank you.

    I’m a designer and now this coding gets scary, so I gotta get my boots on:

    Is it possible to lead me through exactly where this admin email address in Options (and what category); where I should look for it; and how to update if I need to do anything else other than finding the old email address and updating to the new one??

    It will be fairly obvious once you look at the info in the table. In the option_name column you are looking for admin_email. It is usually on the first page when you are in browse mode for the options table!

    For you coding experts: that’s easy-breezy. For me: I sweated through the entire endeavour of updating a simple email address on the database side….worrying I would make an error to find Alan Rickman/Severus Snape bolting toward me through the screen.

    But, it’s now showing as the new admin email. I think I’ve got it. Thanks again.

    P.S. Actually, it would be rather nice to see Alan Rickman again. 🙂 RIP.

    Could I observe, however, that the actual core issue does not appear to have been resolved? It would be helpful if there was a way to manually trigger that specific confirmation email, or even re-trigger if nothing has been received (with a nice, shiny button next to the email address which could disappear once the confirmation has been received, for example)..
