# No quicktags

 * The quicktags bar has never appeared for me. I’m running mac os 10.4 and installed
   wordpress via dreamhost. Any ideas? Thanks.

 * The case used to be that WordPress disabled quicktag for Safari because of improper
   javascript support from that browser.

 * There’s a thread ( [http://wordpress.org/support/topic/18364](http://wordpress.org/support/topic/18364))
   where several people experienced quicktags not working in Safari and the answer
   was “Safari browsers do not play well with the javascript necessary for quicktags.”
   The suggestion was to try Firefox instead.

 * You may also disable the browser check so they will run in Safari. There will
   be quirks in the quicktags, so don’t blame ’em on WP.
