Support » Installing WordPress » No posts after server change

  • I changed my server. Everything went right. My categories, links and options were transported but not the posts. When I see the database using Phpmyadmin, it shows the wp_posts has 190 entries which are not displayed in the page neither on edit screen in admin area.

    What did I do wrong?

  • “changed my server” could mean so many things, so without more info, it’s hard to say.

If you look over Moving_Wordpress do you see any steps you might’ve skipped?

Ok, here are the details of what I did.

I tried to transfer the database to my new URL and server.

First I installed the wordpress in the new URL/Server. Then backed-up the old database and inserted it into the new URL/Server database using MyPHPAdmin. I changed all old URL to new URL using SCR (string character replacer).

My new database has every table including comments and posts. I can edit comments from the WP admin in the new URL but it doesn’t display the posts.

    What went wrong?

If the blog is the one linked to your rpofile – I can see the posts (and read with great delight about the beaten maoists :).

Ayup, moi aussi. Nice look too….

[Have you cleared your browser cache, and hard refreshed -CTRL F5? Have you tried looking in a different browser?]

Ok, I am trying to put my blog on

And, I have tried everything that vkaryl suggested.

    Any more ideas?

Ok. I find it even more interesting. I tried to write a new entry in the blog which didn’t show up in the homepage.

It is not also in the Post list under Manage but I can see that on my dashboard and even can edit it by clicking on it.

    How is that?
