I’m creating a new thread for this issue since it has been persisting for over a month without any help from PayPal. Many merchants are paying an extra fee for seller protection, yet all “direct credit card” payments (which submit through the checkout credit card form) are not recording a shipping address since September 14th, which renders the seller protection we pay for invalid. It seems PayPal was notified, but they have done nothing. I imagine this cannot be a complex issue. Something on PayPal’s end changed on 9/14/22 that stopped recognizing the buyer’s shipping address sent through on this plugin and others.

    Hi @wooq123,

We informed PayPal and only know that they are aware of the issue, apparently isolated the problem and working on a fix. Beyond this, we haven’t received any details. But we’ll update this thread when there is new information available.

Regarding the qualification for fraud protection on these orders, I suggest reaching out to the PayPal merchant support.

Until the problem is resolved, the only known workaround to get the address into the PayPal order would be to disable the PayPal Card Processing and instead provide payments with the default credit card smart button.
This button appears automatically in the PayPal gateway when PayPal Card Processing is disabled and cards are not disabled via the Hide Funding Source(s) setting.

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

    Hi @wooq123,

Apologies for getting back to you just now.
We have only received the feedback that it is still being worked on by the PayPal development team. Last time we got an update about it was two days ago.
Once we get a confirmation that the problem has been resolved or at least an estimate for a fix, we’ll let you know.
But we’d be happy to provide you with some additional details if you could send us a private message here: https://paypal.inpsyde.com/docs/request-support/
Please include a link to this thread.
    Thanks!

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

    Hi @wooq123,

PayPal announced the deployment of a fix for this today, and the address details appear to be consistently available for advanced card payments in the most recent tests we conducted.
Could you please let us know how it works for you now?
    Thanks!

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

Issue still occurring. “We have no postal address on file”. Just tested extensively with live payments. Running plugin version Version 2.0.0. Newest woocommerce and wordpress version. Also, there is no way to test Advanced Credit & Debit Card payments in sandbox mode. I’ve double checked that it is enabled in the SANDBOX API CREDENTIALS > SANDBOX APP SETTINGS, and it is, but this plugin says “not yet enabled”, so when switching to sandbox mode, there advanced card form disappears & cannot be tested in sandbox mode.

In another thread on the same issue, Joost van de Vijver said this 4 days ago (see below). Are you mistaken about when this is being fixed?

We got news from PayPal that this issue should be corrected on the 7th of January 2023. We will leave this thread open and verify at that time to see if it got resolved.

    Hi @wooq123,

    Apologies for the confusion.
I checked again and messed up the time zone conversion, so the fix for live mode is probably not yet out. This should be the case later today, though.
The fix for the sandbox is already live.

To test Advanced Card Processing with a sandbox account, your sandbox merchant account must be enabled for advanced card payments. If the account is not yet enabled, then you can initiate the signup with the Enable Advanced Card Payments button from the Connection tab. This must be done for every sandbox account that wants to use Advanced Card Processing, and you can provide fake data during the signup.

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

I’m familiar with all that – I have Advanced Card Payments enabled in the API Account in the developer dashboard (option is checked), but in this plugin, when switching to sandbox it says in the plugin’s connection tab “not yet enabled” for advanced credit card payments. If I click the button initiate signup as you say, it takes me into my sandbox account and says the feature is active, yet the plugin will still not enabled advanced cards in sandbox mode. Not sure what else to do. I’ve double checked everything.

Can you suggest how I might be able to get Advanced Card Processing working in sandbox mode considering I have everything enabled properly in my sandbox API account and in the plugin? Paypal merchant support referrs back to the woocommerce plugin developers since I have everything set correctly on PayPal’s end.

Unfortunately, it took a while, but PayPal resolved this problem in early December. So I will mark this thread resolved as well.

If any questions or issues remain regarding how to test advanced card payments, please do not hesitate to let us know.
    Thanks!

Issue was fixed but now started occurring again today. 3/9/23. Same problem yet again.
