I have a spring reader for rss feeds. Most of the feeds display pictures with their posts. My feed does NOT (using the same reader and the same browser). I checked the feed location http://chiefshepherd.net/?feed-rss2 and it displays pictures in IE but not in FireFox. I am sending the full text to the feeds and the pictures display properly on the blog.
Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong? I think that I used the feedburner feed URL when creating the spring reader.

  • There’s nothing wrong with your feed. WordPress puts the excerpt of the post in the “description” field and the full content of the post in the “content:encoded” field. IE shows one, Firefox shows the other.

But IE and Firefox are not actual feed readers. People don’t use feeds in them like that, they use feeds in readers like Google Reader, and these WILL show your posts and such correctly. Try subscribing to your feed in Google Reader and looking at it there.

Thanks. I did find the answer. I switched my feedburner feed to atom (vs rss2) and everything works great!

What does that mean “I switched my feedburner feed to atom (v rss2) mean? I am having the same problem.

On the feedburner site go to the “edit feed details” and enter something like the following:
    http://chiefshepherd.net/?feed=atom as the “original feed.”
    That did it for me

I was having the same problem. Changing the feed hasn’t worked, yet, I think that I’ll have to wait until Feedburner updates my feed…

    Thanks for sharing this information.
