    Hey there,

I am getting this error when paying through a credit card.

“No PayPal order found in the current WooCommerce session.”

I know a lot of users have the same issue, but just wanted to check if the new update is ready? To be honest it affects a lot of our customers. I hope the latest update will be released today.

    thankyou.

    Hi @waleedviews,

Could you please share a link to your site?
Also, can you reproduce the behavior with only WooCommerce and PayPal Payments active?

This error usually occurs when a buyer clicks the “Place order” button before it has been replaced with the PayPal smart buttons as it can take a few seconds on the first page load. A similar error previously could occurr for payments via PayPal Card Processing, but this should have been resolved in version 1.7.0.

In any case, the next plugin update includes some measures to prevent the error. If you want, you could give it a try with this version.
But this change is still being tested and we would advise testing it on a separate staging site as it didn’t complete all tests yet.

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

    Hi @waleedviews,

Thanks for the link, I see what’s happening on your site.
This looks like it could be a compatibility problem with the theme or a plugin like fluid-checkout. So this is not directly related to the problem I previously mentioned or which the test package aims to fix.
PayPal Payments is supposed to replace the regular “Place order” button with the smart buttons. Also, the Credit card gateway gets its own “Place order” button.
But on your Checkout page, on the right side, there’s another “Place order” button which is not hidden as it should be. If you only use PayPal Payments as a payment gateway, then hiding this button via CSS may be a temporary workaround as this particular button likely will not work. The button next to the Credit card gateway on the left side should work, but it appears to be causing the error that’s documented here.

You may want to perform a full conflict test to rule out eventual issues with the theme or a different plugin. We recommend temporarily activating the default theme Storefront and disabling all other plugins except for WooCommerce and PayPal Payments to see if the behavior persists.

Beyond this, I would suggest potentially disabling the PayPal Card Processing as this may work a bit better with your particular checkout flow until the next update has been released later this month.

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

    Hi, and thanks for replying!
