No output

I’m confused. I’ve installed, troubleshot according to instructions, turned off ALL other plugins, cleared cache in FF and Chrome etc. There is simply no output. (Shouldn’t I see the twitter: metatags in my header?). On the twitter test page I get only text, which it is just grabbing from the site.
