Support » Plugin: BuddyMeet » No output for BuddyMeet Group Page

  • Version: 1.4.0

    BuddyPress & BuddyMeet are installed and activated.
    Brand new install of WP with Permalinks set to “Post Name”
    Using https

    shortcode works on created pages, but when you enable it on a group the “BuddyMeet” option is there, however nothing is displayed when the page is loaded.

    I’ve tried deactivating-reactivating BuddyMeet. Also deleted and re-installed without any change.

    I also enabled WP Debugging with nothing obvious.

    Any ideas? Thanks!

    Hi @welshlamb10,
    Sadly, I gave up and moved on to other software. I wish you luck. Let us know if you get it working.

    @johnhall ,

    What did you use as an alternative?

    Thanks

    I’m playing with the PeepSo plugin now. It’s really slick.

    Hi and sorry for the late reply,

    the default BuddyPress templates that are included in the plug-in are based on the Nouveau theme and not the legacy BuddyPress theme. That means that if you theme extends the legacy one you will have to override the templates I include. To do so, create a child theme and override the templates of the plugin by copying the templates/group folder to your theme and then customizing them as you wish.

    Hope that helps,
    Themis

    Hi @tdakanalis ,

    Thanks for getting in contact.

    I added the templates/group folder to my child theme.

    Although I’m still unable to load the meet. I’m just shown a blank screen. I’ve tried on both Mac and android mobile phone.

    Here’s a screenshot:

    Any help would be awesome! I could make contact with BuddyBoss to ask them too?

    Thanks

    Hi @tdakanalis,

    That would be super helpful, do you have an email I can reach you on. As will need to send login details, etc.

    Thanks

    Please remove the overriden templates and update to the new version of the plugin.

    I’m afraid it still does not work on BuddyBoss theme – which is gutting.
    I’ve tried on a Macbook and an Android device.

    It’s just loading a blank screen.
    Happy to give you access to take a look

    Thanks

    have you updated to version 1.6.0 and removed the overriden template files?

    welshlamb10

    (@welshlamb10)

    @tdakanalis

    Yes removed templates and run update

    @tdakanalis

    I’m on buddypress with a custom theme with buddymeet 1.60 and I’m seeing the same grey screen.

    When I view the source of the iframe and visit that link (ie visit just”view-source:https://meet.jit.si/0976e521-a148-4f86-a748…..”) then the link works. So clearly the frame has the right link inside, but the browser is unable to render it.

    While you fix the bug, I have a simple workaround. Can you add an option for it to open in a new tab? Anyway most people want to do Video Conference in full screen mode so this is a good way to solve two problems (the grey screen and iframe unable to full screen) at once!
