I have downloaded the Give plugin and activated it. When I went to add a form, there are no options other than set donation and multi-level donation. The rest of the form is blank. I have included a link to an image to show what I mean, in case that helps. (https://cloudup.com/cja-aq6DU5f)
Hi @kohoile – that’s definitely not how Give is supposed to look! I suspect that there is either a JS issue conflicting with our plugin which is preventing the fields from displaying or a PHP conflict.
First, if you can open the page in chrome and right-click and say “Inspect Element” then click on “Console”. Let me know if you see any JS errors on that page.
If not, are you able to go to WP-Admin > Donations > Settings > System Info? If so, can you let me know your PHP Version, what theme you are using and your active plugins?
I am experiencing the same issue. I set up the plugin on an existing site and when I created my first form, I am getting no options in the settings fields. Here is a screenshot:
Help would be greatly appreciated as this looks like a great plugin for our use.
Here is my system info:
Please deactivate all plugins besides GIVE. If it works as expected then re-activate each plugin one at a time until you see the problem again. Then let us know which plugin caused the error and we’ll dig into it.
If after deactivating all other plugins it still does not work correctly, then tell us where we can get a copy of your theme to test.
Let me know how that goes and if you find a relevant plugin that triggers the error.
Thanks for the quick reply but I can’t do that. Everything worked fine until I activated Give plugin and this is a active, live site with an upcoming important announcement coming, so I can’t do the troubleshooting of this plugin. I’ll just need to go another direction.
Hope you guys are able to find it – looked like a nice option. FYI, I also noticed that this plugin took over my other WP custom fields – e.g. the ones that my theme places in page admin.
Without the plugin activated:
With the plugin activated – same custom fields from the Overlap theme:
We don’t have other users reporting this widely, so it’s most likely unique to your environment. Without doing basic Plugin Troubleshooting (similar to what I indicated above) we won’t be able to find how that happened.
I’d also recommend you look into a local development solution like Desktop Server by ServerPress. That will enable to you test plugins and updates locally without touching your live environment. I must if you are making a living off of your website.
Thanks and best of luck to you as well.
Here is what I see in the console area in Chrome (https://cloudup.com/cKhz0s-8-ks).
This is a new site that I just started working on last week for a local nonprofit. I only had two other plugins loaded and activated. They are Advanced Custom Fields and Huge IT Google Map. I deactivated both and I got the same thing as I indicated in my initial message (https://cloudup.com/cja-aq6DU5f).
In case it helps you, this is what it looks like on my page (https://cloudup.com/c117VZUK6D0).
I am using a child theme I created from “Untitled” by Automattic v1.1.4. I really haven’t done much in the child theme. I am very new to this and am still learning. I only made a few CSS changes to my site and to the footer – nothing to the donation page that I inserted this into.
I hope I have given you enough information to help figure this out. Please let me know if you need any more from me. I would have responded yesterday, but I was showing what I had to the nonprofit.
Thanks @webdevmattcrom (Matt),
I will check out that serverpress option and I appreciate the resource. I certainly can understand that it hasn’t been widely reported so you can’t worry too much about it, but there is definitely something going on there when / if you guys get a chance.
Thanks again. Kory
