Having installed the FB plugin a couple of months ago I know this worked perfectly well, but when drafting a new post this week I noticed that I didn’t have the options to mention other pages or post pages on other timelines. I’ve got the option to post on my own page timeline, but not others.
Like I said, it did work as I had setup the app with the publish article object, and this is still in place, but it’s not making any difference.
On the Facebook plugin Social Publisher page in the dashboard of the 3 pre-requisites listed, the 1st and 3rd have ticks next to them, but the 2nd doesn’t, it says:
Associate an Open Graph action-object pair for your application: people can publish an article
Like I said, I checked the opengraph settings on the app, and even deleted the object and recreated it.
the app details are correct, I’ve re-entered the app id, secret key and namespace data onto the general page.
Any ideas? or suggestions?
I am having the same problems here on my site as well. Been banging my head for about 2 hours now. Tried uninstalling plugins to see if that was the problem, but no dice.
See the Get Code button within OpenGraph publish details. Hit that. You will get a ‘curl’ command to execute to publish your action. Do that on the command line (hopefully you are using Linux or have access to platform that can run curl to make this easier).
If that goes through, then you have to submit your action to Facebook by hitting the Submit button (it was next to the Get Code one) within the OpenGraph settings screen (follow the onscreen instructions).
Once that is done, it should work. I must say FB is unbelievably complex for such a simple request.
