    Hi Guys,

I installed the google site kit and set google analytics and Google Tag Manager.
When I set up GA, it asked me to create a GA4 and since then I don’t see anymore traffic when I go to google analytics.
Maybe there is no more traffic recorded, I mean not just the live traffic.
On my website, in site kit back office, it says that google analytics in well set up.

I guess I need to do something on the Google analytics account to make my audience back?
Sorry I mighthave missed something I guess.

    Thanks for your help

Hello @cedricbonnard and thank you for getting in touch. Looking at your site I can see that you have Site Kit setup and installed correctly. I can see that you have Site Kit placing the GA4 code snippet also.

However, it looks like you are not placing a Universal Analytics(UA) code snippet. Currently Site Kit only supports the display of UA data and not yet GA4 within it’s dashboards. You can find out more information this in our Using Google Analytics 4 (GA4) guide.

If you edit your Analytics module within Site Kit > Settings > Connected Services and switch on the place UA code snippet then you should start to see your Analytics data within the Site Kit dashboard.

Hope this answers your question but let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.

    Hi Adam,

Sorry for my late answer. Thanks for your answer.
I edited the “connected services” as your recommanded but it didn’t fix.
Before installing “site kit” plugin, I didn’t have a GA4. I created as it was proposed/recommanded in the plugin when settings.
So I guess I need to remove the GA4 from my google analytics account to get my audience back.

Do you know if I can transfer the audience I got on GA4 for some days to my normal google analytics ? it seems that all traffic is now seen only on my GA4… I don’t want to loose the traffic for some days if possible.

Thanks if you can help with that and have a lovely day,

@cedricbonnard no problem at all. Looking at your site now it looks like that you only have Tag Manger connected and not Analytics.

As mentioned previously, Site Kit currently only displays data from a Universal Analytics ID and not GA4. You can use Site Kit to create a GA4 property and place it but any data related to that property will need to be viewed currently in your Analytics account directly.

You will need to connect your Analytics module in Site Kit and make sure that this setting is switched on and you have the correct UA code placed. You can find this UA code by going to your Analytics account > Admin > Your Account > Account Settings > Tracking Info > Tracking Code and that will show your UA code.

GA4 and Universal Analytics are two separate data models so you cannot transfer data between the two. You can find more information on the two here.

@cedricbonnard Could you please try once more to set up your Site Kit and connect the Analytics module? Let me know if you encounter any issues or error messages along the way and make sure to connect the UA property as mentioned above.

Could you also provide Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred. With this I can do some further checks to make sure nothing is interfering with with Site Kit.

    Yes it’s all connected.

I just sent you the “site health information” using the form.

    Thanks

@cedricbonnard thank you for providing the information. I can see that you have quite a few plugins active. It would be useful at this point to rule out if there is any theme or plugin conflict that could be interfering with Site Kit.

We have a troubleshooting guide for this which will help identify any potential conflict.

Let me know if this highlights anything.

    Hi Adam,

Yes I know, too many plugins but I can’t really remove most of them. I am tryoiing to look for an alternative for some of them.

So I just added my GA code with just a custom code in (via functions.php or with elementor > cudstom code) like I did for the Facebook Pixel.

I think I will just add the GTM code like that too and I won’t need any plugin then, even if I like your plugin and your support is really/honnestly good!

If you check my website, you should see the GA now! And it’s seen in my GA account, great!

@cedricbonnard I completely understand and thank you for your patience and help troubleshooting this. The Health Check and Troubleshooting plugin does not remove or disable any plugins so while using it your site visitors won’t notice anything different on the frontend.

Adding the code snippets manually is something you can also do as you say and once added you still can connect Site Kit which will pick up the snippet added manually and display the data from the property in the code snippet. You may need to disconnect your Analytics module for example and re-connect for this and also make sure that the option for Site Kit to place the snippet is switched off.

Yes I can now see the UA code added to your site. Please do let us know if you are able to connect your Site Kit Analytics with that manual snippet placed.
