• If you need a Markdown Editor with preview, it’s a real nice plugin but… it’s not compatible with WP core media management so it’s useless for me – and most of the people I suppose.

Update: insert media button works in last veresion. So it’s now a very interesting plugin if you like Markdown language for your posts. And the plugin uses the Jetpack ability to store two versions of your posts (Markdown and HTML) for quick rendering.

Thank you for your review. You can still use the WP media management, the Add Media button is above the editor, but the Insert into post button doesn’t work and you have to copy the URL and paste it into the editor manually. I will try to make the insert button work in the next version.

I’m curious to see if you manage to make it work.

The plugin has just been upgraded to version 1.0.2. The Insert into post button worked.

Good work. I made a post about Markdown solutions in WP here and will add your plugin: http://www.echodesplugins.li-an.fr/plugins/markdown-et-wordpress/ -in french.

I use JMarkdown (Jetpack Markdown module without Jetpack) and wonder if it will be compatible with your plugin.

    Thank you again, Li-An.

You should use only one Markdown plugin at a time. My plugin has integrated a markdown parser – Parsedown which is similar to Jetpack Markdown module. I will have a look at the Jetpack Markdown module to see which one is better.

Well, the Jetpack Markdown manages two versions of the post: a Markdown version and an HTML. So rendering is quicker than using a parser.

So yeah, it is a different approach. Each approach has its own pros and cons. In my plugin, the editor will load slower but it does not have to manage two versions of a post.

Hey Li-An, I had replied you in the support thread.
