“No matching template found” after uploading website

    Hi everyone!

    A friend of mine created a website locally. He is not very computer savvy and asked for help uploading it to his server but I never used WordPress either.

    I uploaded the website and, at first, there was a problem connecting with the database. I added the credentials to a file and the site went blank instead. I turned debug mode on and an error appeared saying “No matching template found”. The website works perfectly in localhost. Why is this happening?

    Just to make sure I uploaded the correct folder, I clicked on “Explorer” in Xampp and then accessed “htdocs” then the website name, I believe (I’m not at his home anymore).
