  • Originally using WP 3.7.1 and had problems. It had run successfully several times before.

    I upgraded to WP 3.8, performed a backup, and everything went smoothly and quickly. I would delete this comment but haven’t figured out how to do it.

    Hi,

    Most likely your webserver is border-line in terms of the resources it is providing, and whether they are adequate to get a backup completed. It’s more likely to be succeeding or failing depending on the current webserver load, rather than WP 3.7/3.8, as there are no significant internal differences between WP 3.7 and 3.8 (the changes are various cosmetic ones, rather than internals).

    By the way, I don’t know why you said in your original posting “I’m using the free version so there is zero support and you can’t get any information.”
