# No longer rendering

 * Not sure what went wrong, but my site no longer renders correctly (both the regular
   blog and the admin panel). Here’s what I have figured out already…
 * I am able to access files in the directory
    [http://www.charlesspot.com/logo.jpg](http://www.charlesspot.com/logo.jpg)
 * Checked the database and looks like it is still there with the correct settings.
 * Any help would be much appreciated!! Thank you.

 * Yikes.. You really _are_ still running Version 3.4.1.
 * Some things to consider:
 * a) You may have been compromised because you’re still running a version of WordPress
   that’s unsupported, with known vulnerabilities
 * b) Or… you’ve lucked out, and the 500 error being returned by your server is 
   just due to an .htaccess file problem, or some other minor server configuration
   issue caused by a recent change that you, or perhaps your host has made.
 * Contact your hosts support group and see if they can help you resolve the “500
   internal server error” issue first, then see where it leads.

 * Ok – the 500 error has been resolved but still no luck… Any help/thoughts would
   be much appreciated.

 * HTML files are being rendered: `charlesspot.com/readme.html`
 * ..and your server appears to be able to render php files: `charlesspot.com/wp-
   admin/install.php`
 * However, none of your index.php files, or wp-login.php will display.
 * And then there’s this: `https://www.charlesspot.com/`
 * I noticed a lack of cached pages in Google, and an “inurl” operator revealed 
   one cached link over **https**.
 * _“Welcome to charlesspot.com
    To change this page, upload a new index.html to
   your private\_html folder”
 * ..which is an index.html page being served by default from root, and returns 
   a 404 error when index.**php** is requested over https. That should give you 
   some things to look at.
 * It also might be a relevant clue if you mention what was causing the 500 error.

 * Wow – thanks for the quick assessment. The 500 error was my fault, accidentally
   deleted some DNS entries in my admin panel. Fixed now.
 * Any idea why index.php or other php pages won’t render correctly?
 * The https: makes sense as I haven’t put any files in there so it is using some
   default page.

 * I’m still getting a 500 error in your server responses over http. _https _returns
   a 200.
