No longer can edit Menus after updating 5.4

    Hi there,

    The menu structure changed after updating to WP 5.4, I backed up my website prior to updating.

    The Menu structure is no longer there and in order for me to view the menu structure that I update periodically I have to click “Manage with live Preview” and when I click on that the menu items are not editable.

    I would like to stay current with WordPress updates but unfortunately I can’t use this version until the old menu structure is restored.

    I have several plugins to change the logic of the menu items based on whether a user logs into the Desktop or Mobile, some menu items are hidden when they log onto a mobile device.

    I have a plugin that allows me the capability to change this logic called
    “If Menu – Visibility control for menu items”.

    I CAN NOT EDIT THIS LOGIC WITH VERSION 5.4.

    Please let me know if you can update this change in order for me to update WP 5.4.

    Hallo @naomibuch

    There is no date scheduled for 5.4.1. yet.

    Could you please provide screenshots (using any photo-sharing service you feel comfortable with, for example imgur.com)?
    It is difficult to visualize your issue without being able to see it.

    How do post a screenshot? There is no upload button, the choices are Link, OL, LI, Code.

    Upload it to some imagehost like https://snag.gy (they have a nice tool to PrintScreen and paste) and give link

    Have you tried dragging the custom links and pages into the menu again?

    Hi there,

    I tried dragging the old menu items and custom links but when I click the “Add To Menu” button, the menus doesn’t appear on the right side. Nothing happens.

    Please fix this critical issue as soon as possible, it’s preventing me from updating menu items. Or provide step by step instructions and screenshots on how to edit previous menu items in the new version.

    The menus are impossible to add/modify….I am rolling back to the previous version until these bugs are fixed.

    Also, there is a slight performance drag on mobile devices when comparing the versions.
