Usually a user can see their username on the far right of the admin bar while logged in the backend. I have a user that can’t see it, and therfore can’t logout unless they go to the front end and logout from the admin bar. What do I need to do to bring back the username and logout function back to the backend?

    I’m stumped.

Thank you so much for your help.

    Hi @introproductions,

It is most likely you restricted access to the admin menu “Edit Profile”. You should never restrict access to Dashboard and Edit Profile menus as these are default pages that user is redirected after login.

I am having the same problem. I don’t even see where I can edit the “edit profile” access. I cloned the admin role and only took away certain theme related menus, but the new user role takes away the logout button on my website too.

I denied access to the theme editor
    appearance-except menus and widgets
    plugins
users (the only check boxes here are for “all users”, “add new” and “your profile” which I left “your profile unchecked.)
    settings

    and thats it
