    Hello guys,

The plugin was working fine when I had the Google Authenticator field on the main screen but I enabled the second login screen option (can’t remember the setting name specifically) but since then I cannot log in to wp-login because the second page has no input or buttons.

The screen I’m presented with has the WordPress logo, a blank white box (decoration, not an input field), a link to go to my website (which still works fine) and the privacy policy… thus, I cannot progress further.

I’ve tried this with Chromium on my Rasbian, Edge and Chrome on Windows 10 and with Chrome and DuckDuckGo on Android… all the same secondary screen described above.

Could this be a Theme issue? I use Hueman. Is there a way I can easily toggle that setting back without resetting everything? I can get to my hosting control panel so I can delete or change files if needed.

Any assistance would be appreciated. Note: I’m not too concerned with having the secondary screen setup functional (if it turns out to be a theme issue, for example)… I’d be happy to put the field back on the main login.

    Kind regards, Isreal.

  • Hi,

Ftp into your server, locate the plugin directory or your site and rename the plugins folder. This should allow you to log back into your site.

Let me know if the above helps you.

Yeah, thanks. That got me past the issue.

I probably didn’t need to do all of the following steps but it’s what I did… and the code is back on the primary login, without needing to re-register anything (pre-existing code works fine)…

As suggested, I renamed the “google-authenticator” folder under plugins to “google-authenticator-old”.

Logged in as normal (without 2FA).

    Re-enabled the plug-in.

Under Settings\Google Authenticator, “Two Screen SignIn”, unchecked “Ask for authenticator code on secondary login screen”

    Logged out.

I renamed the underlying “google-authenticator-old” folder under plugins back to “google-authenticator”.

Logged in again as normal (without 2FA).

    Re-enabled the plug-in again.

Under Settings\Google Authenticator, ensured that “Ask for authenticator code on secondary login screen” was still unchecked.

    Logged out.

At the primary login screen, the “Google Authenticator code” field was back… and I could log in without issue.

Thank you for the time and assistance. Much appreciated.
