no images in each slideshows program

  • I’m trying to program my new website (first experience with WordPress). I’m working in local on a Mac with MAMP.
    The Theme in Slinding-door.
I prepared variuos pages with different slideshows with photos and videos fron youtube. Everything worked well untill a certain point… Then something happened (I really don’t know what) and from that minute no slideshows worked anymore. If I go in the editing page, I still can find all the different slideshows with their names, but I cant’t see any image, text o video… It seems all lost…
    Can someone help me?
    Thank you

    Hi Roberto,

Have you checked if there are any JavaScript errors on the page?

If so, you could check which plugin is causing the error by disabling them one by one until the slideshow starts working again.

You can find out wheter or not it’s an error caused by a JavaScript error in your theme by switching to WordPress’ default theme for a moment.

    Best regards,

    Hi Stefan,
I doesn’t seem to be a javascript error because with the twenty-eleven theme the slideshows don’t work in the same way…
I have only a couple of active plugins about link the page and socials.
Possibly in the meanwhile I run a few upgrades of the softwares installed (but unfortunately I don’t remember which…).
The strange thing is that each single slideshows has kept the number of slides (I can see that from the commands that stands up when I move the mouse) but they can’t show any picture… as slideshows were not able to look in the right folder. Where slideshows memorize all the sequences, the slides, texts and videos ?
Do you think I have to reprogram all the sequences?
    Thank you…

P.S. Just for safety: once I have done all my slideshows programmations, is it possible to make a backup ?

It could still be a JavaScript error, as the plugins that can cause these errors are active in either theme. You can only test this by disabling the plugins.

Commands that show up? Do you mean the description boxes? If the descriptions do show up, the next update (version 2.2.8) may fix your problem. I’m about to release the next version within a couple of days.

There are a couple of back-up plugins, but you could also run a back-up in PHPMyAdmin.
