Hi there!
Indeed, it looks like this is caused by some custom coding. What happens when you briefly disable all plugins and switch to a default theme, such as Twenty Twenty or Rookie?

I’ve always been sceptical of disabling all plugins and switching to a default theme, as I’m afraid of losing progress. Are you sure that by disabling everything, and re-enabling, everything is back to normal?

That’s just part of the troubleshooting process, so we can identify where the issue is.
We can’t guarantee that it will go back to how it is now, as we don’t know how the other plugins/theme are coded (maybe they have a bug, for example, which is out of our control). Usually, a backup is the safest way to “freeze” your site in a state, so you can restore it and go back to normal.
Another option is using a plugin such as Health Check, so you can disable plugins only for the current users and your visitors won’t notice that you are testing things out.
