Installed NextGen Gallery. Followed the instructions to insert an album in a page but I don’t see a cover image in the page. On the website the photo’s are displayed.

@cruisefan – Do the galleries within the album all have “preview” images? Can you provide a link to where you have inserted the album so we can see the issue first hand?

    Thanks!

    Hello Cais,

I can see the ‘preview’ images in the galleries within the album. With this link http://www.wpvrouwenkoor.nl/leden/?login=empty and this login name Temporarily you are able to enter the backside of the website. On the page ‘Foto-Album’ you can see how it looks like.

Please let me know if you are finished so I can remove you as administrator.

Hey @cruisefan , Due to WordPress.org policies we won’t be able to login and we recommend that you and everyone else not post your login creds in the public forum 🙂

What Cais was referring to is that for each of your galleries, make sure to set the gallery preview image here: http://screencast.com/t/UbEOO6he . Don’t forget to ‘save changes’. 🙂 Clear your browser cache and if you have a caching plugin installed purge all site cache. You should now see the images in your album 🙂

    Hope that helps!

    Hai Becky,

I tried all your recomondation but it doesn’t work. It’s working fine on the front end of the site but in the backend on the page I still see a grey square with the words NextGEN Gallery, a pencil to edit the settings and a cross to delete the square.

Oh, sounds like you and I had a different ‘preview image’ in mind. 🙂 Sounds like your galleries in the albums are set up correctly. The “preview image” in the page / post text edit area has been modified intentionally. It used to have an image behind the text. Now we have updated the display to be more minimalist in style. I hope this helps clarify why you’re seeing the display like that. 🙂

    Becky
