I am getting a “critical warning” by the plugin that says:

“No H1 tag was found. For the best SEO results there should be exactly one H1 tag on each page.”

Below the warning is a short explanation to the value of an H1 tag.

This warning is incorrect. The website pages/posts do titles that are H1 tags.

I went through the different settings for the plugin, but cannot find anything that shows to have any connection to this warning about title tags.

Could it be caused by each of the AIOSEO Page Settings, in the “Page Title” module?

I entered a modified title in each of my pages/posts to keep within the 60 characters, so this module is Not taking the title directly from the page itself.

Otherwise, where or what is causing this warning issue and how can it be fixed?

    Thanks.

Hi @lospeso, what is the URL for your website so we can check it?

Thanks @lospeso. I checked the source code of your homepage and confirmed that there isn’t any H1 heading on that page.

An H1 heading is output by your theme and is usually the page or post title.

On homepages, it’s usually the site title, but some themes replace this with a logo. That looks to be what your theme is doing.

Search engines want to see an H1 heading on every page of a site, so our recommendation would be to add some text towards the top of your homepage and make it an H1 heading. The text could be a brief description of what you website is about.

This is not something our plugin handles, this is content that you’d add to your homepage.

Since all the posts and pages have a H1 tag, then this must refer to just the Homepage.

I will have to see what the theme provides in this regard, else I would have to add it someway, even if it is a special PHP snippet insert in the functions.php file, so the layout of the home page is not negatively affected.

    Suggestion:
The H1 critical warning does not mention anything about the home page, not even the explanation in the accordion.

I suggest updating this to include the explanation about the home page as being important for SEO / Google results, etc, because I am sure many, as I have done, did not think about the Home page in that way. Including the explanation about the Home page would have really helped.

    Thanks for the help.

Hi @lospeso, yes, this only applies to your homepage. All other pages are fine.

    Thank you for your suggestion.
