# No Gallery Folder??

 * I really was excited to use this plug-in. But, I have created two “test” folders
   in my WP admin, and tried to add photos to it.
 * I get: Could not write to file. Please check filesystem permissions. Filename:/
   home/rollinj8/public_html/wp-content/gallery/test
 * Ok, so no big deal… I just moved hosts (downloaded this AFTER I moved) and was
   having some permissions issues with even just uploading pics to my blog using
   its regular built-in method. So the guy that owns my hosting servers fixed that.
 * But with this, he wrote me back saying there is NO “gallery” folder. I looked
   myself, I thumbed through trying many combos and I cannot find WHERE in the hell
   pictures are even stored on the server! I couldn’t find “gallery” nor could find(
   I thought with “test” folders being created… I’d find them.) the test folders,
   even when doing a search could not be found.
 * So, where in the heck are the photos stored in this plug-in??!! So my host can
   change the permissions so I can add photos to it!

 * Man, I just can’t seem to get any help on this. First posted in Plug-In’s, and
   didn’t get a response other than I needed to post it here… now no response here.
   Does no one know how to help me with this? All I need to do is figure out where
   the folder is located that the pictures are written to so my host can change 
   the permissions for it. Yet it doesn’t seem to exist?

 * In your wp-content folder there should be a folder called ‘gallery’ which contains
   folders for each gallery you create.
 * If there is no folder called gallery inside wp-content, create one and set the
   permissions so the webuser can write to it.
 * You have quoted the exact path for which you need permissions so you know where
   it should be, in other words your post contained both the question and the answer
   so that is probably why you didn’t get a response.
 * This may come as somewhat of a surprise but this is not an issue with WordPress
   or NextGEN Gallery plugin, this is purely PEBKAC and could be solved by doing
   a google search.

 * The default “gallery” folder should be found under `../wp-content/` and your “
   test” gallery images would be (in a default installation) found under `../wp-
   cotent/gallery/test-gallery-1/` (just an example).
 * Ensuring the permissions for `/gallery/` and its sub-folders are set correctly
   would still likely remain with your web host to guarantee.
