    Hi,

I have a brand new site, this is the very first plugin installed. Nothing else active. 2019 theme active. Bet even when logged in as the admin the front end is not accessible, all I get it the maintenance mode screen. I have checked the .htaccess and it’s the standard WordPress file.

    I am stumped?!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello,

This problem usually occurs because of the cache. But if you don’t have a cache plugin installed, I am not sure what the issue is.
It would take me logging in and looking at it to find out why it is not working correctly. Unfortunately, we don’t provide that level of support.

Just tested the plugin and that theme (the7), and it’s working fine. So, I think the problem is caused by something else.

would ssl have anything to do with it? We have ssl enabled on the WP install, but have not got a cert sorted out yet? So the site is ‘not-secure’ in the browser.

@davidshave Yes, it could be because they’re different protocols.

So, if you use https://domain.com/wp-login.php to authenticate, you should use the same protocol when you access the frontend https://domain.com/. Otherwise, the authentication cookies won’t be available on the frontend.

thats it – got it, thanks.
