 * Hi,
 * I am using the free Wordfence plugin on all of my sites. I just ran the online
   security scanner at Sucuri and it is flagging “no firewall” on all of my sites.
 * I have checked the settings and the Firewall option IS checked.
 * Is there really a firewall in the free version? Why would Sucuri’s tool not be
   seeing it?
 * Please advise. I am starting a new business where I will be building sites for
   clients and am considering getting the Wordfence premium for that, but want to
   make sure it’s really working first.
 * Thanks.

 * Hi,
 * There are firewall rules built into the free version of Wordfence, but there
   are a number of types of firewalls. The scan from Sucuri is most likely referring
   to the type that is either a physical device or built into the operating system(
   Linux in most cases), which would be the responsibility of the hosting company.
 * If you’re not certain that the Wordfence firewall features are working on your
   site, you can try setting some of the firewall rules to be more strict, and then
   intentionally breaking one of the rules from a different location (or having
   a friend or co-worker do the same), so that your own IP does not get blocked.

 * Thanks. I appreciate the detailed answer. I think you’re right because IPs are
   being blocked. So it’s probably just a technical semantics issue.
 * Thanks for clarifying!
