no featured image section appearing on product pages

I don’t have a featured image section on my product pages, and can’t figure out how to add an image to it. I checked my “screen options” section at the top of the page and there is no place to check to enable the featured image either. My theme is Udesign V. 1.5.1 from Themeforest. I checked the documentation on this, and found the “add post thumbnail” line in the functions.php file. I can’t figure out what the disconnect is or what I need to do to get an image to appear with my product. Any help is appreciated- thanks!
