# no export option in admin

 * I need to export my posts and comments; however no export tab is listed in my
   admin panel. I have an import option though. Is there a manual way of exporting
   posts?? I’m switching web hosts and I just want to start over but keep all of
   my posts. Any ideas what the problem could be??

 * On your **manage** tab you should have “Posts”, “Pages”, “Uploads”, “Categories”,“
   Imports”, and “Exports” (assuming you are talking about your online wp-admin).
   If Export is not showing, then it is WP’s once again mostly working fault.
 * If you are using the downloaded software front end, then you may need to update
   your wp software. You didn’t mention if you had the feature before and now it
   is missing, or if you never had the feature in your version of the downloaded
   software.

 * I am working in the admin panel, and it is not showing the “export” option. I
   would like to update to a newer version; can I do that and not worry about losing
   my posts?? I eventually would like to switch my blog to another server, in which
   case I will definitely need to have the export option available. Also, I did 
   replace the export.php file with the newest version (wp 2.3.3) of the file. This
   did not resolve the situation. Thank you for your help. Any other ideas??

 * Im not sure that 2.2 actually had the export option. It does have an import option—
   I’ll have to look….

 * Actually, after looking at the files, I see that there is, in fact, an export.
   php included in the zip, so it ought to be there in your menu.
 * Look under the Manage tab, see if it’s there.

 * I did that, have you read the posts?? Thanks though. I was hoping to run into
   someone else who has had the same problem and found a solution. Ah, this is just
   frustrating.

   assist you.

 * I had the same problem with the latest version, however I noticed export.php 
   was there on the file system. I just went to [http://yourblog.url/blog/wp-admin/export.php](http://yourblog.url/blog/wp-admin/export.php)
   directly and that worked fine.
