• Hi,

First of all, thanks for your previous support in resolving the issue with blank Braintree credit card form.

This is more of UX issue with the drop-in Braintree credit card form. Currently, if user has not entered complete credit card information and simply press the “Place order” button, there is no error or validation message being displayed. The place order button will not trigger any action, and the user will probably be puzzled as to what is happening. I have received two support emails from potential customers indicating that “the Place order button does not work”.

I would like to suggest to ensure there is a validation error message for the Braintree credit card form, if any of the card fields is not completed.

    Thanks!

Hi, Sorry for delay in response, Thanks for bringing this to our attention, Allow us some time to investigate this, we will get back to you asap.
    Thanks!

I would like to add this is currently happening on a shop I’m working on as well (and has been occurring for the past month or so on and off). https://www.stemologyproducts.com From time to time the place order button just stops working. There are no click events registered in the console for a credit card sale regardless of how many fields are filled in for checkout or for the card payment. I can leave all fields blank and it won’t fire and there are no error messages displayed. If the user clears their browser cache then the button starts working normally again. I have seen this behavior in Chrome and MS Edge. The site is hosted on WP Engine and I know they cache pretty aggressively but this error also can be seen on their staging site, in which there is no caching. I’ve noticed when this happens that if I toggle the “ship to different address” option on and off the form starts working properly.

It may be that user’s connection to the Braintree API has timed out and the request for a new session is not being properly triggered. Likely traceable back to the SDK upgrade from 2 to 3 at the end of May. Every once in a while an error regarding the Braintree nonce is displayed as well.
