Thank you for your feedback, but there are some misunderstandings in your message.
You do receive the secret key when registering your account at hCaptcha.com. For security reasons, it is only displayed once and must be stored like a password. If it is lost, you can always regenerate a new one (with some limits).
Regarding the Pro trial, you can indeed activate a 14-day free trial directly on the hCaptcha site. This is independent of the plugin itself.
Our plugin has already been successfully configured by more than 70,000 users, so the setup is definitely possible. In case of any difficulty, we always recommend reaching out to support first, as leaving a negative review without asking for help is unfair.
We’re here to help if you need guidance.
Hola Sres.
Una estrella es por tanta desinformación. Me dicen que antes puedo pedir ayuda y soporte. Créame que me ha costado encontrar dónde y he decidido hacerlo de esta manera ya que he enviado correo a ventas, que supongo no contestarán.
Gracias
Thank you for your follow-up. Let me clarify a few important points:
- This forum is dedicated to the WordPress plugin “hCaptcha for WP”. We do not manage or control the
hcaptcha.com website itself — that service is provided directly by hCaptcha. For questions about account management, such as regenerating the secret key, the correct place is their official site.
- When I mentioned “70,000 users,” I meant the number of active installations of our plugin. The total number of downloads is actually more than 1.5 million (WordPress.org statistics). This demonstrates that the plugin has been successfully configured by a very large community.
- As for support: we always encourage users to contact us through the WordPress support forum, which is the fastest way to get plugin-related help. Unfortunately, leaving a low rating without first asking for assistance does not really reflect the plugin’s capabilities.
Your concerns are noted, but from the way the message is framed, it is somewhat difficult to understand the exact intention — whether it was to resolve a technical issue or simply to express dissatisfaction. Either way, we are always open to constructive dialogue and to helping users get their setup working.
La solución es volverte a registrar con otro email. Y menos mal que hice un recorte de pantalla porque no basta con copiar la clave “tan secreta”.
La estrella la mantengo porque ni advierten en su web, ni me dan la solución en la respuesta.
Gracias
What you missed during the generation of the secret key on hcaptcha.com is the explicit warning shown on screen: “Make sure to copy this secret now and save it somewhere as you will not be able to see this again.”

As I have already mentioned, I do not manage the hcaptcha.com site and cannot change anything on it. Here, on the WordPress.org forum, reviews and ratings should only reflect the WordPress plugin “hCaptcha for WP”, which integrates the hCaptcha service “as is.”
Leaving the lowest possible rating for the WP plugin because of how the external service displays or stores its keys is similar to me going to your website and leaving a one-star review because your site uses Google Maps and I don’t like Google’s interface. Would that really be fair to your own work?
I encourage you to judge the plugin on its actual functionality and, whenever there are questions, to reach out through the support forum first — we are always ready to help.
