• I installed the plugin but it didn’t see my existing subscribers, so I had to find another plugin to export the subscribers, then reimport them to this plugin. After this I sent the email, but for 42,000 subscribers, it takes time – currently its sent out nearly 7000 in about 3 days (it’s limited to about 00 per hour). That means that I can’t send from WordPress to all subscribers quickly – it will take a couple of weeks. That’s not the plugin’s fault – it the limit set by the hosting companies. However, of the 7000 newsletters that have gone out as I write this, only one has been opened. And guess what? I opened it! I found the email in my spam even though I’d sent a test email and told my spam filter it wasn’t spam – the live email ended up there again. So I found it, but no-one else has trawled their spam to read the email newletter. Gutted!

Hi, about your existing subscriber, where were they stored? When the plugin is installed the subscribers table (which is not the wordpress user table), is empty. There is a specific function to link the wp users to the subscribers.

About the stats, if you see no one opening the email there area a couple of things to check:

    1. the tracking images is not always autoloaded by email clients, so a mail can be opened but not reported. Send me a copy of an email you sent so I can check if there is some problem with the tracking image.

    2. there are links in the email? if there are and someone click one of them, this is counted as an opening of course. I can test it with a copy of an email.

    Write to me at stefano@thenewsletterplugin.com.

    Thank you.

ps: about your server capability to send email, a list of 42000 need usually a better delivery method. I suggest to get an account on mandrillapp.com ans set their SMTP in the main Newsletter configuration. If you want to send using their api and get the bounce managed by Newsletter you can even user the pro extension for mandrill integration.

I send with them about 10.000/15.000 per days from few blogs I manage without issues.

Another note: about the delivery speed, you surely set the correct speed related to your serve capabilities in the main Newsletter configuration, I suppose.

If it’s still slower than set, you can see that documentation page:

Anyway thank you to take the time to rate the plugin, every comment is useful to improve it!

    Bye, Stefano Lissa.
