Hi Guys, form created and published seems to be working fine except one thing. I am getting no email notifications despite setting up a notifications tab. Used another 2 form plugins but still no notifications. What other settings could be related to this ?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @e7workshop

I hope you’re well today and thank you for your question!

One of the common thing is just message going to spam/junk folder in inbox. I’m aware it sounds quite obvious but it’s actually very often the case so please start with checking that – see if these messages are there.

If not then it might be some server-side limitation. Are other e-mail from your site coming through fine (e.g. lost password or account registration messages)?

The notifications from Forminator – are they only “admin” notifications or also for submitting visitor? None of them are coming through or just admin ones?

Also, is your site using standard WP-way (wp_mail() function) to set e-mails or did you install and configured some SMTP plugin? If you’re not using SMTP you might want to try it as some hosts limit e-mail services in that way that PHP “mail()” function can only send e-mails from addresses that belong to the domain of the site and/or physically exist on the same server. This can often cause such issues and switching to SMTP helps in such cases.

SMTP can be configured on the site using free plugins such as for example:

    – our own Branda https://wordpress.org/plugins/branda-white-labeling/
    – WP SMPT https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-smtp/
    – POST SMPT https://wordpress.org/plugins/post-smtp/

    and similar.

If you haven’t tried that yet, it’s worth a shot.

    Best regards,
    Adam

Hi Adam, thanks for your response.
I am using 3 different forms for 3 different sites (same server / host) .
    Nothing in spams (gmail).
On forminator I filled both admin and other emails (2 different mails) but no message received. I dont have any member section so no other forms on site to receive mail notofocations.
I did not set anything email related so It should be as standard.

    Hi @e7workshop

    Thanks for response!

I dont have any member section so no other forms on site to receive mail notofocations.

I understand but I mostly asked about notifications coming form “other parts” of the site, such as, for example, lost password notifications.

An easy way to test it is to create new user on site (you already should then be able to see if e-mail from the site comes through) and, just to make sure, use “lost password” option when trying to login to that account.

You would see then if those “other” notifications are coming it.

I suppose, though, since it’s Gmail account (so not hosted on the server), it might indeed need to use SMTP. Would you give it a try, please, as mentioned in my previous post?

    Kind regards,
    Adam

    Adam,

I don’t get anything to my gmail, “add new user” “lost password” I also dont get anything to mail email based on same server one details though. I can see the mails received in Webmail box on the server but not in gmail box (connected account). So will I need t set up what you given above as SMTP ?

    Hi @e7workshop,

We can’t be sure if the SMTP could be the issue here but it’s certainly something that should be checked, so do give it a try please and let us know if the emails are properly received after that.

    Cheers,
    Predrag
