Hi asterixxx,
Thanks for your message.A few questions for you:
- Have you set up a notification?
- Is it for a post or a custom post type?
- How are you publishing your post? Is it via a plugin or via the WordPress admin?
- Have you tried installing the Email Log plugin to see if your email notification is being sent out successfully?
- Have you checked your SPAM folder?
With this information I should be able to help you further.
Thanks,
JackHave you set up a notification?
YES
Is it for a post or a custom post type?
It’s for a post.
How are you publishing your post? Is it via a plugin or via the WordPress admin?
Post is published regular via the WordPress admin?
Have you tried installing the Email Log plugin to see if your email notification is being sent out successfully?
Just install “Email Log” by Sudar and there is no data
Have you checked your SPAM folder?
Spam folder is emptyhope this helps
Hi asterixxx,
Thanks for that. Some of those questions might seem a bit basic and obvious but you’d be surprised! It sounds like your notification isn’t being triggered.
Are you able to double check the user role(s) or user(s) that you have set-up and the conditions that the notification has in order to send out?Let me know how you get on.
Thanks,
JackHi Jack, the same issue with my installation. Plugin properly installed, a rule is set for “Pages – New Comment”. There is only one mail in the logfile, directed to the author of the post. This mails are sent and received w/o problems.
Notifications to defined additional users/ roles are not triggered. I am using WP 4.2.2 and the newest version of your plugin.
An possible improvement would be an integrated log functionality. Actual I need to install a separate plugin for that.
Best regards
PeterOne addition what the intention is:
We are a private group of friends and would like to use the web site for sharing news, strucutured in a few blogs. Every friend should get a notification, if s.o. has added a comment in one of the blogs or if a new blig is added.. Actually, only the author of the blog is notified. I assume, that “Pages – New Comment” is the right trigger for the first scenario, right ?
BR PeterHi pbl50,
Thanks for your message and apologies for the delay in my reply – i’ve been away on holiday! If you’re publishing blog posts then you’ll want to use the ‘New Comment’ notification. ‘Pages – New Comment’ are for notifications of comments on pages.
Hope this helps but any other problems, just let me know.
JackHi,
regarding issue, today notifications successfully passed. Why? I don’t know.
Another question: How to change From title (now is wordpress.org)?
tnx
Hi asterixxx,
You just need to tick the box that allows you to specify additional fields (such as CC and BCC) when setting up the notification and this will allow you to change the from name and email address.Hope this helps.
Jacksolved, thank you 🙂
Hi Jack, thanks for your reply. I used this type of notification, but it still doesn’t work. Mails to the author of the post are sent immedialtely, so the mail core is working.
The notifications seemed to be triggered. They are listed correctly in the log, but not sent. Looking in the details, the message body is completely missing.
But as the mails to the authors are been sent. I do not expect to have a problem with php_mail, but I am not sure.
Best regards#PeterHi Peter,
Are you using BNFW shortcodes in the message body? If so, which ones? Thanks,
JackSolved. User Error 8-)). Thanks a lot, John.
Best regards
Peter
