donor and donations from yesterday have randomly appeared. but one is missing.

what plug in for back up would you recommend?

Try this, if you don’t mind sending me your database to look at. There should be no reason (at least in my code) for entries to randomly appear, since the code only runs when the donor form is displayed and it just puts the data into normal WordPress custom post types. The only other possibility is that it’s taking PayPal a long time to send IPN notifications, which is how PayPal sends the cart back notification that a sale has completed. That’s what that IPN URL is. PayPal will send a message to that URL with the completion information and it’s possible there’s been some IPN delay.

However, if you’re willing to share your database, please follow the instructions in this video https://youtu.be/8fYI2WlZSpo and mail me your database. Shoot me a note at http://zatzlabs.com/contact-us/ and I’ll give you an email address to send it to.

    thanks for your reply.
Yes the issue was with the Paypal IPN url as paypal had an issue with the email confirmation. that has been clarified now and donations are coming through correctly. thanks!
what would you recommend as a back up for the database? to ensure we are saving donor and donation information.

I’m working on a bug where donor name and email address are saved, but nothing else. I’m guessing you are experiencing the same problem. I have a few databases and they’re repeatable, so stay tuned.

Do make sure (just as a general WordPress thing) that you backup your site and database. If you need general recommendations, I can give you some basic pointers, but there are a ton of great tools out there.

Every time I try to check the donor or donations tab, I get directed to a page informing me of their location on the dashboard, but that is the tab I’m using to get there, so I’m not sure why I can’t view the information. No matter what I do or what tab I use, that’s all I see.

Take a look on the left side of the screen. There are Donors, Donations, and Funds admin menu items. Those tabs are there just for people updating from an older version. You can hide them now.

I had this issue, now I am one step further; it seems to have to do with the Sandbox merchant account that I am using.

    • I have a default sandbox merchant account that was created by PayPal some time ago.
    • I have a new sandbox merchant account that I created manually for testing this plugin

When I log into sandbox.paypal.com with those accounts, both have a totally different look to it. Not sure what this is, where the difference is. Only the older account is working.

That’s pretty wild. I log into sandbox.paypal.com myself.

Try the new 4.0.5 beta. Let’s see if that gets you further along. See the stickies in the forum for a link.
