Support » Plugin: LifterLMS » no display of sessions + html issue editing lessons

Since the wp update of lifter lms plugin 2 days ago I see sessions displayed as [accordion title=”…………..”].

Also, when I want to edit a lesson there’s a block saying “No HTML was returned.”
I can delete it and edit the content but I guess it’s not a good message.

Any idea how to fix this?

The deep theme I use is said to be compatible with lifter lms.

Courses are not live yet but I could send you a screenshot.
    Thanks!

    @l9ssowkn5tqnkn,

Since the wp update of lifter lms plugin 2 days ago I see sessions displayed as [accordion title=”…………..”].

[accordion] is not a shortcode included in LifterLMS. Since the shortcode is displaying as text that means whatever was providing that shortcode no longer exists on your site and therefore it shows as text. It sounds like you may have in addition to upgrading LifterLMS possibly deleted a plugin or installed a new theme. Is that possible?

Also, when I want to edit a lesson there’s a block saying “No HTML was returned.”
I can delete it and edit the content but I guess it’s not a good message.

This is returned in the editor when an error generating a block is encountered. It should only happen if you’re attempting to put a block in a place where it doesn’t belong which isn’t usually possible unless you’re really tricky and place the HTML for a block out of place.

After deleting it does it return if you add that same block back in?

What block are you seeing this on?

What sort of post is this happening on? A course, lesson, etc…?

The deep theme I use is said to be compatible with lifter lms.

I’ve actually never heard of this theme before so I can vouch for it’s compatibility. However, if you think it’s a theme issue I’d recommend reaching out to the theme developers for some assistance.

Screenshots are always great and even better is a copy of your system report uploaded to a service like pastebin and then drop the link here.

    Thanks,

thanks it’s solved by activating WP bakery:-)
But now it shows the lesson content in the outline, which I don’t want.
I activated your LifterLMS Customizations plugin but I got no clue where to add the custom php. Can you describe it in clear steps for a non-tech person?
    Thanks!

What do you mean by content? Our outline shortcode shows the excerpt and the title.

Is that what you don’t want to see?

There’s a pretty basic explanation of how the customization plugin “works” https://lifterlms.com/docs/how-do-i-add-custom-code-to-lifterlms-or-lifterlms-launchpad/#custom-php

However, this is a plugin *for developers* and it assumes a base-level knowledge of PHP and WordPress development.

If you don’t have that than I’m afraid it’s not for you. I suppose it’s kind of like going to an auto-parts store and saying “I need you to explain me how to change my oil but I don’t know anything about cars.” Sure, they can probably teach you but that’s not really what they’re there to do. I know that’s a rough stance to take but LifterLMS has a TON of customization options and WordPress hooks and filters allow *everything* to be customized but you have to do so with code.

If you *NEED* to write some custom code and the explanation on our docs doesn’t help you might want to consider hiring a developer to assist you with your customizations: https://lifterlms.com/experts

    My apologies,

    hi

the course details on the left side don’t just show the outline (which I would prefer) but a lot of blank fields, a square indicating that the lesson has content, and half a page of lesson content.
And it’s all together displayed in a strange non-attractive way, see example https://trailrunnersconnection.com/course/meet-the-runner-continent/

I think it is displaying the syllabus so I like to add the custom code by using the WP editor to remove the syllabus.
Where do I find the file “lifterlms-customizations.php”?

    Thanks

    Hi @l9ssowkn5tqnkn,

You will have to install and activate the lifterlms-customizations.php as a plugin. You can find that for download here: https://lifterlms.com/docs/how-do-i-add-custom-code-to-lifterlms-or-lifterlms-launchpad/#download There will be a link in that section where you can download the proper file.

As Thomas mentioned, if you need any assistance with actually developing the code you need please don’t hesitate to reach out to the LifterLMS experts program: https://lifterlms.com/experts These are all developers in good standing with LifterLMS that can help you develop the code you need to correct this issue!

Let us know if you have any further questions!

    Thanks and take care,
