Everytime I try to edit one of my pages, I get a “no data received” error. The only thing that page consists of is a list of links to HTML pages. It rarely will let me update, but 99% of the time I get that error or my “Update” button is grayed out. I have no idea what is going on.

Try turning off your plugins. Using FTP or the File Manager in your hosting account, go to wp-content/plugins. The plugins file is located in the WordPress core files. Rename the plugins folder to plugins-Hold.

Recheck your page editor to see if it functions properly. If the editor does work, rename the plugins folder back to plugins. Login to your WordPress Dashboard and start turning on your plugins one at a time until you find the plugin(s) that kills your editor.

If the plugins are not causing your editor problem, try activating a different theme. Any theme you care to try is fine. Then test your editor.

If these steps don’t find the issue, come back and post. There are more steps to try.
