No dashboard

I am very new and novice to wordpress/websites. I recently had someone set up my site for me. I have not been able to get in touch with him in the past couple days.. not the problem. I logged in to make a couple blog posts and none of the dashboard content shows up. All I get profile and dashboard link, but nothing to make any changes to blog. I use bluehost to host site.

What am I missing? Guessing something else needs to get installed.
