hey, that would be great!!!
can i somehow properly take over my already created categories that i see in the “terms” and “terms_taxonomy” table to add the missing entries in the “options” table with the option_name like “uclwp_listing_category_children” ?
Also a direct contact via webmaster at eupipe.eu would be desirable because of my wordpress hosting agency for a brainstorming and workarount for my business idea and plans.
regards from germany
Sorry I didn’t understand your last query.
Can you please elaborate?
Thanks

How can I update or create this entry so that the categories that exist in the tables are displayed correctly with uclwp_listing_category_children ?
The following shortcode displays the child categories as well
[uclwp_categories]
A new version is also released where you can choose the tags and select category from the frontend.

Great, I appreciate that, but my existing categories that I created with Wpadvert are not displayed.
I don’t know how to explain the problem, as already mentioned, with the existing categories …
For a clean display of the categories in the backend, the entries in the options table are probably missing so that the attachments in terms and terms_meta can also be retrieved in the backend.
So an entry with a key code is missing, which is created for each catgory and is written in the named line uclwp_listing_category_children.
Surely there is a data record description for the content of the “option_name” column. I would like to transfer my > 200 categories from WPadvert.

I just found a small error in my data that was responsible for the incorrect display of the categories… Now the categories are displayed correctly in the backend, but still not in the form in the frontend!

I don’t know if the screenshots describe it better, that there is a constellation that I cannot understand, that I can edit and save categories and yet they are not actually displayed as a selection option in the intended selection in the frontend form.

The error cannot be due to the authorizations that can be assigned via the user roles. I have checked this as far as I can…

Which shortcode is displaying that form?

The page is empty, without displaying a shortcode and the slug ends on /publish/
This page was created during the installation of ULCL and only renamed from Title.
When using the cockpit via [uclwp_dashboard], im Form does not show me a drop-down list of categories that could and should be selectable.

I have just found the section at the very end of the form, where nobody would expect it.
I was able to move it to the header above the field section in the backend.
But the selection is difficult if I have spare parts and accessories or trailers from the car area, in addition to new cars, used cars and classic cars, which in turn should have their own sub-category.
I can’t expect anyone to do this and your software could become one of the best, which I would like to recommend to our customers with a clear conscience and offer an installation service with training.
This would certainly also promote your plans, as you will certainly want to earn money with your baby Ultimate Classified Listing.
Maybe you or you can find a quick and practical solution, because I like to familiarize myself with software that has to work and doesn’t cause difficulties with more complex requirements.

Maybe you can use the tags for this purpose?

This would only work if I could create and select the tags for a category.
If I want to manage car parts with categories under a main category, this unfortunately does not work.
ok, I will add a feature to choose parent/child categories as well in the coming release. Hope it will resolve your issue.

In any case
it would be great if there was an option to display only the categories that have subcategories, which are then only displayed after selection.
That would be really great
How long will it take for this to be implemented in a new version? That I can adjust to it
