No categories or keywords showing

For some reason, I’m not getting any categories or keywords to show in the portfolio grid or on portfolio pages. They show in the edit screen, but not the pages. Maybe something weird with my theme files?

Also, I would really like to use a single-column, full-width page template for display of portfolio item details, and there is one for the theme I’m using (Designfolio Free), but there are no options to select the layout template to use on the Create Portfolio Item screen.
