    Hi there,

After updating from Woocommerce 3.3.4 to 3.5.0, the button ‘Preview changes’ has disappeared from the product edit page in the WordPress backoffice. Normally it is in the upper right corner, but now there’s just the button to publish directly, not to preview the changes first anymore.

Meanwhile the button is available in the pages and posts pages of WordPress. So the issue is limited to the (Woocommerce) products section.

I’ve tested this in WordPress 4.9.8 and with several templates (Twenty Seventeen as well). Also with all other plugins disabled, and for two different websites.

Could this be a bug in version 3.5.0? I’d appreciate if you could take a look.

    Thanks in advance,
    Plimfec

Btw, while adding a new product, the button ‘Preview’ is displayed as usual. No problems there. However, when you publish this new product and edit it afterwards, no button ‘Preview changes’ is visible either. So, concerning this issue, there’s no difference between existing products and products added to the database after updating to 3.5.0.

  • I have noted the same issue. Preview button is not available after a product has been published. v3.5 and WP4.9.8. Divi theme.

    Hi there,

I reported the issue in Github as well:
    https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/pull/20650

There are different threads in Github about this. It is no bug, the Woocommerce team decided to delete the button on purpose. I can’t follow that decision. To me it is quite logical to have the ability to preview first before you publish.

So, I miss this feature very much. The removal of the button did destroy my workflow (you can’t use ctrl-z to undo changes anymore, since you are forced to publish them first).

Well, that’s it. Be welcome to promote the return of the button, in Github or anywhere else, when you miss it like I do.. 🙂

    Thanks,
    Plimfec

As @plimfec notes, this was a decision of the WooCommerce team – your best option is to let them know that you’d like to see it changed back by commenting on the Github issue.
