    Hi there,

I’m just testing the plugin in sandbox mode, all seems good so far.

The only issue I’m having is that (using express checkout), is that once the order has been made the “Order received” page shows the billing address as N/A. I’m assuming because it’s handled by PayPal?

But it seems to show just fine in the backend order. Is there a way (template tag) I can show the billing address on the order page and customer email?

    Thanks

PayPal only returns a single address; the shipping address. This is to help protect buyers by not sharing actual billing details with merchants.

What we did, though, is add an option into the plugin settings so you can have WooCommerce use the same address for both Billing and Shipping in the WC order. That way it won’t show up N/A.

You’ll just have to keep in mind that it’s not technically a billing address.

No problem. If you have a moment to leave a review for the plugin that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Hello,
where do I find the option you mentioned here?

What we did, though, is add an option into the plugin settings so you can have WooCommerce use the same address for both Billing and Shipping in the WC order. That way it won’t show up N/A.

I use “Paypal Plus für Woocommerce” and “WooCommerce PayPal Express Checkout Gateway”

In the Express Checkout settings panel you’ll find an option labeled “Billing Address” with a check box option/description that says “Set billing address in WooCommerce using the address returned by PayPal.”

Take a look in the EC settings panel and you’ll find that between the Payment Action and Cancel Page options.

    Hi,

i guess I am missing something. I don#t have an option in Woocommerce called “Express Checkout”. There is a tab in “Checkout” called “Paypal Express Checkout”. The Plugin I have installed is:
    WooCommerce PayPal Express Checkout Gateway
    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/paypal-express-checkout/

I could deactivate this Plugin, but then do I have to install another Plugin? I cannot find a tab called “Express Checkout” even when I deactivate the “WooCommerce PayPal Express Checkout Gateway” Plugin.

OK, yeah, you’re using the WooCommerce Express Checkout extension. Not ours.

Our plugin is “PayPal for WooCommerce” which includes Express Checkout and provides more features and functionality than the Woo version does.

I would recommend removing their’s and installing ours. It will be very similar, but then you’ll have additional options including the billing address option.

Ok, I would very much like to use your Plugin. Does it work with Paypal Plus? I have disabled the Paypal (Standard) Option in Woocommerce and only activated the Paypal Plus Plugin and Option (which is yours also) https://www.angelleye.com/product/woocommerce-paypal-plus-plugin/

Is it possible to use both? How do I configure Paypal Plus AND Paypal Express Checkout?

PayPal Plus is specific to Germany. Are you in Germany?

PayPal Plus includes a PayPal option within the Plus pay wall, but you could still use Express Checkout along with that if you’d like to.

Yes, I am in Germany. Ok, thank you, I will try all this.

    Hi Angeleye,

I have installed you Plugin and testet everything in Paypal Plus AND Paypal Express.
So far everything is working. The only problem is, that when I pay with Paypal Express I get a Screen with english titles and buttons e.g. “Checkout -> Review Order” “Customer Details” “Shipping Address” and “Billing Address” etc.

The worst thing of all is the buy button wich is calles “place order”. In Germany it is very important to have here something like “Jetzt kaufen” or altrnatives are:
    – Kostenpflichtig bestellen
    – Zahlungspflichtig bestellen
    – Zahlungspflichtigen Vertrag schließen

If we don’t have this in our shops we risk to pay a huge fine…

It is possible to translate these entlish sentences without risking to have them overidden with the next update?

I use plugin called “Woocommerce Germanized” they help us to keep everything according to german law. It seems that you plugin and theirs do not match these things. Perhaps you could work togething with them, so we – in Germany – will not have any problems in future with your plugin – wich I think is great!

    Catarina.

    Hi Catarina,

Yes, that would come down to general translation of a plugin. Are you familiar with using .pot files to generate specific translation files using POEdit?

The plugin comes with a default.pot file, and that’s what you would start with in POEdit. There are plenty of guides on Google about how to create a specific translation file.

You can translate the entire thing so everything the plugins displays is in German, or you could only do the few lines that are most important to translate.

The ‘Place Order’ button is specific to WooCommerce, though, so you may actually need to translate that from within a WC translation file.

That said, I’m pretty sure they have a German translation file included with WC by default, so if you have the language set to German in your WordPress settings it should be taking affect. Do you have the general setting in WP set to German?

Yes, I have set up WP in German. And everything I needed to be translated I already changed in the storefront-translation file.
And everything in the shop is in german except from this part/screen and it only appears when I pay with papal express.

I can translate the single words in your pot-file (“place order” comes from your translation-domain “paypal-for-woocommerce”) and place the translation files in the /wp-content/languages/plugins folder. Then they will not be overwrittten with the next update of your Plugin, correct?

    Thank you.

ok, everything is translated except from the “Checkout → Review Order”. This does not seem to work…
