My backup was completing everyday as scheduled until May 31. I just realized I have no backups since then. I now get this error: “There has been no backup activity for a long time. Attempting to resume the backup.”
I had a 30 second time limit but I finally managed to change it to 1600 seconds with 64M memory but it still gives the same error. I am stuck. I really need this to work. Any ideas?

  • I am having the exact same problem. No backups since May 31 on multiple sites. Please help!

Hi, I also have the same problem…

I installed the plugin last month, so I don’t know if this is a general problem since May 31th.

    Gday guys,

The “There has been no backup activity for a long time. Attempting to resume the backup.” message is actually a feature designed to allow the plugin to resume if PHP or the web server kills the backup process,

It is quite normal to see the message around 10 times if your time limit is quite low.

Please let me know if you manage to successfully back up.

    Cheers,
    Mikey

    Mikey,

My time limit seems quite high- here is what I get when I first start the backup.

15:00:02: Your time limit is 1600 seconds and your memory limit is 128M
15:00:02: Backup started on Tuesday July 30, 2013.

Then I have about two hundred of these:

00:34:34: There has been no backup activity for a long time. Attempting to resume the backup.

There must be something else wrong because it has continued to try to run each day since May 31st but I have had no success at getting the site backed up. My site is about 1 Gb in size and I have 50Gb free space on Dropbox so I can’t understand why it is not working.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you,

    Mark

    Gday Mark,

There are other limits imposed in apache that you cant change that can be causing timeout too. However this is 5 mins by default so that should be fine.

Maybe I can jump on your blog and take a look for you? If so, shoot your credentials to my support email.

    Cheers,
    MIkey
